Hi. My name is Michelle Vincent and I live in Elsie, Michigan. I am the mother of Makenna and Carson. Motherhood has defined me and given me purpose. And while this continues to be true, motherhood was tragically redefined for me on September 16, 2018. This was the day that I lost my son, Carson, to mental illness. This new reality is still very raw for me. And out of my family’s tragedy, my greatest desire is to honor Carson’s memory by being real about suicide and mental health, and working toward reducing the stigma surrounding them. To that end, I created a Facebook page called, “Vinnie’s Voice.” My hope is that through this page, people will find courage to seek help.
